Singapore Academy of Law Junior College Programme

I actually managed to type out the full name of the programme.

Well, i didnt really regret joining this programme. At least now im quite sure law isnt for me. I may be too judgmental, too emotional. I cant be a successful lawyer. The conference was interesting though, we knew things that we can never see on TVs. And now we know TVs that potray lawyers are TOTALLY WRONG.

2 days of jobshadowing passed. What had happened?

1) i havent went for any court hearings yet.
2) Ppl there treated us as invisible.
3) I know how to make latte now.
4) I finished a yuri wallpaper in a few minutes at work.
5) Had an online flame war today.
6) Law documents are evil to me.
7) I cant say anything that i have read, since i signed the non-disclosure form.

Hey i didnt talk about my fellow interns. So there are another 4 girls...yes correct, another 4 girls. RJC, VJC, TJC, SRJC. So im the lonely boy there. And i felt damn outsided there can. One is an As student, one is a debater, one is a KI student, one is a sadistic one who enjoy reading the law cases and stayed back today to finish the law hearing's minutes. And who am i? The science student who failed all his sciences and dislike law, suxs at reading fast and analyzing law. Right...1 more week to go, before i go back to my holiday homework...

I missed working at taka. At least it was interesting. I simply love that place and the stuff i learnt there.

Mental note to myself: I should really start on my homework.

School starts on 10jan???????????????????????????

Anyway, i just felt extremely pissed off by some foreign dudes on soshified today who blasted singlish in front of us singaporeans. I got so bored i wrote a whole passage on singlish and posted on the sg ssf forums.

Stop here if u thk im dumb.

Hi guys, i know this is not related to SNSD, but i really felt the need to post this.

Yep, some of you may have known, a brief 'flame war' on the topic of 'Singlish' broke out at the sbox this afternoon. Well, i wont mention who was involved.

First of, im a true born Singaporean, who's born in Singapore, raised up in Singapore, went through the education system in Singapore. Yes, a true blood Singaporean.

Im sure many of you people here would be 'well-versed' in the unique language of Singlish. We all know, its something that is strictly unique to Singapore, oweing to our diverse culture and nationalities. The moment we were born, we were bombarded with so many different tongues and languages, most of us at least know more than english and our own mother tongue. Not to mention being the always inquisitive, or even 'kiasu-ness' mentality, we learnt even more languages, like japanese and korean.

Some of you, perhaps, may despise this tradition. Others, may enjoy it. But, as a Singaporean, i believe this is something that really differentiates us from others around the world. People may say, "oh, its imperfect english", "its crude and silly". But do they even understand how Singlish came to be?

Being a 17 year old boy, i may not know much history. But one thing for sure. Singlish is a product of our vast rich multi-racial culture.

To Singaporeans out there who despise Singlish, i have nothing to say, since we are not obliged to like it. You may feel ashamed by your fellow Singaporeans embracing it or anything else. But face it, no matter how 'crude and unsightly' you may think Singlish is, its your hometown's unique culture.

To foreigners out there who despise Singlish, we cant blame you. I guess you never understand Singapore's history. The huge influx of foreigners which continued to this very day. Your country may be pure, your language perfect, but is your language up to future 'language invasions'? Lets face it. British English was almost taken over by American English; More Malaysians and French are embracing English. (sorry if i got the facts wrong, im not a history student)

As i close this, let me tell you all. To those who knew me, i came from an elite school, and definitely not the typical Singaporean you know. But i know this: We are from Singapore, and no matter how ugly or crude you may think our rojak language is, as what our dear 'gahmen' had mentioned, please, PLEASE, at least try to protect our culture.

Im open to comments, if you wanna flame me or something. Or if you want to remove this post, im alright with it. I just wish to express what i felt after today's incident.

EDIT: I wanna emphasize...we Singaporeans are fully capable of speaking PERFECT ENGLISH AND OUR MOTHER TONGUE.
