Crazy Randy talking about crazy stuff again.

Ok, so today im thinking about stupid stuff. Saw a brochure at Pizza Hut about helping people who are living in poverty by donating $2. One sentence strikes me: "Hunger is unacceptable. With your help we can end it."

When i saw this, i immediately went over and donate. Well, im not saying that im some really compassionate and kind person, but this left me thinking, What, is my actual stand on this globe?

Last year, i joined Roots n Shoots Feed The Poor community, hoping to provide my assistance in helping those who are very poor. Shockingly, no activites, no activities at all was carried out. The teachers and the student leaders inside dont even give a damn about this community. I was very, very disappointed then. This year, Zhou Quan started the Animal Club, and i joined him, seeing that Roots n Shoots was hopeless. Maybe its due to the heavy workload of ours, we didnt do much for our organisation ACRES. This is definitely a mistake on our part. So i decided to do what i can next year.

Seeing this brochure today, set me thinking of who on Earth do we actually need to help first? The environment? The animals? Or Man ourselves? This is really something that gives me headaches. For one, i always believe in helping ourselves first, before we go on to save the environment. If we have food, give it to our fellow men, followed by animals. If we need to exploit the environment to save our kin, why should we stop and hesitate? Thus here, i strongly believe that i will do anything to preserve mankind.

However, while writing my essay on technology today, another thing bugs me again. Im strongly against too advanced technology. Im against self-thinking robots, against technology that makes us over-dependent on them. This makes us vulnerable, and weak. Evident from I,Robot, and a certain story i read in some very old storybook. Really, technology, if run wild, is not an easy opponent.

So, imagine a situation when Earth faces a disaster, and many people are too weak. There is a technology that is able to provide food for them, but the price is to be dependent on the technology to survive, for eternity. If i have to make that choice, what will i choose?

Seriously. I cant make a choice.
