Aiya...of all days...grandma tell me to eat outside for lunch today coz she's not cooking...
why dont she 'not cook' last saturday instead of today???
Oh well, yesterday's traffic marshall was a total screw-up. Apparently its rather difficult to control your own peers who has been side by side with you for 4 years. And some dont even care.
For the whole marshal, they juz sat down and either sleep or talk crap.
Well, some. But most of them.
From our dear NCO, Mr Leong De Shun Kevin:"
First up, today's Secondary 4 Parent-Teacher Gathering Marshalling.
Your behaviour was not acceptable.
I must say that it is unfortunate that I find out through Mr Ong that those who were in the vincinity of the multi-storey carpark showed inappropriate behaviour.
He witnessed the following:
1. Sitting down in full uniform at the entrance to the carpark.
2. Squatting down in full uniform, also near the entrance to the carpark.
While he only quoted these 2 examples, I am sure that those were not the only problems with the way you guys handled today's marshalling.
The lack of discipline in our squad has now officially shown up on the radar of our officer(s).
This lack of discipline is unacceptable, especially when we are in the eye of the public.
Within our unit, we are the most senior squad.
Other squads may or may not look up to us, but the example that we give them is of great importance either way.
Within our unit, much of our squad's misbehaviour has been covered up or just not looked into.
While this is not ideal, it is the current situation.
Most importantly, this is within our unit.
When we are visible to the public, we are showing them an image of NPCC.
In particular, we show them an image of HCI NPCC.
While we may or may not be constantly preoccupied with the image that we show others on a personal level, the image of HCI NPCC should not be one where cadets are seen to have a lack of discipline.
The conduct of the cadets of HCI NPCC should not be projected to the public as being bad.
The lack of discipline shown in today's marshal duty must not be repeated during the National Gym Marshal Duty next week.
Nor should it be shown when you go down to support Hwa Chong in the HCI-RI soccer match the following week.
Please, at least make this happen.
If you still feel like playing the fool and telling me that they should be more "media-literate", I can only say that you really lack the ability to tell what is appropriate for when.
If you think that just because we are leaving the unit soon you can do anything you want, and it should be accepted, then I have to tell you that you are absolutely wrong.
If you think that I should not be telling you all this, go ahead and tell me I am wrong to say this.
If you are bored of me trying to tell you to behave, tell me so.
If you have a great dislike for me because I do this, tell me so.
I do not guarantee that I will change because of what you say, but at least then I'll know.
However, I can guarantee that I will not take action against you just because you dislike me.
While our term as NPCC cadets is coming to an end, I hope that the level of discipline in our squad does not fall any lower than it already is, and if possible, go back up before we finally leave NPCC."
Well, i agree with him. Even though the training in NPCC was tough, the stress and pressure to excel is heavy, i never really regret the choice i make. I learnt alot, be it positive or negative, directly or indirectly.=================================
